The Challenge
Generative AI can make common workplace tasks faster, including drafting emails, summarizing information, and generating ideas. The same convenience can create risk when users enter sensitive information, rely on inaccurate output, or treat AI generated work as final without review.
The learning need was not to teach employees how to use AI from the beginning. It was to reinforce a small set of behaviors they could apply during everyday use: recognize appropriate tasks, pause when information may be sensitive, verify what AI produces, and remain accountable for the final work.
The Approach
Identify appropriate routine uses such as summarizing information, drafting emails, and generating ideas.
Stop before sharing information that may be sensitive, personal, client related, or internal.
Review AI generated information for accuracy, relevance, and needed corrections.
Use AI as support while keeping judgment, context, and final decisions with the person doing the work.
Experience the Microlearning
The final experience is a one minute animated microlearning video developed in Vyond. A recurring office scene follows one workplace professional as everyday AI use moves from routine tasks into moments requiring greater judgment.
The learner sees familiar activities such as summarizing a report, drafting an email, and generating presentation ideas before the video introduces privacy, verification, and accountability concerns. Reusing the same character and environment keeps attention on the behavior instead of introducing a new scenario for every concept.

Design Process
Before development, the content was mapped from the business need to the workplace behaviors the microlearning needed to reinforce. The Action Map defined the performance strategy, while the Visual Storyboard translated that strategy into screen level narration, visuals, timing, and reinforcement.
Performance Strategy
The map connects the business and performance goals to four instructional steps and five observable workplace behaviors reinforced throughout the video.
Screen Level Design
The storyboard documents the instructional purpose, narration, on screen text, visual direction, reinforcement, and development notes across eight planned instructional scenes.
Design Decisions Behind the Build
A single office environment keeps the experience grounded in familiar work and reduces unnecessary visual transitions.
The video focuses on what the learner should do while using AI instead of explaining how generative AI technology works.
Thought bubbles, the shield icon, and the validation check reinforce key moments without requiring lengthy explanation.
Lines such as “AI helps, but I verify” and “I remain responsible” turn abstract responsible AI principles into phrases learners can remember during use.
Designed Performance Outcomes
This project demonstrates my ability to reduce a broad workplace topic into a focused performance message. Responsible AI can quickly become a large technical or policy discussion, but this microlearning was intentionally limited to behaviors a learner can recognize and apply during everyday work.
The design connects instructional planning, visual storytelling, and Vyond development to a focused performance goal: use AI as support while keeping privacy, verification, judgment, and accountability with the human user.
The microlearning gives workplace professionals a short, repeatable framework for using generative AI productively while maintaining privacy, verification, judgment, and accountability.
